Kara Coleman
There's no place like home!! Kara Coleman is proud to be back where she was born and raised, waking up with you on 12News Today! Kara graduated from McDowell High School (Go Trojans!) and went on to pursue a Journalism/Mass Communications Degree at St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York. "I knew television was the place for me, because a professor once told me, for this job you have to be nosey and like to talk... check, check!!" After starting her career at WXVT in Greenville, Mississippi, Kara moved to New Bern, North Carolina where she anchored a morning and noon show for WCTI. It's not always easy waking up so early, but Kara loves starting her day off with you! "I'm having my coffee as the viewers are having their coffee, and it's always nice to share that! It's my pleasure and responsibility to get the viewer prepared for the day ahead and it's not something I take lightly!" Kara enjoys spending time with her family, including her nephew Nolan, hanging out with friends, drinking coffee, running and reading!
