The money will be used to help fund the engineering and design of a full size scanner bed to treat cancer in humans with radio waves to kill cancer cells. The device is being built at Industrial Sales and Manufacturing in Millcreek. Smaller devices made at the company are now being tested on cancer cells in animals . Jim Rutkowski, Jr. of Industrial Sales and Manufacturing said, "This money will help go a long way toward getting that to be a reality within the next 8-10-12 months. We will have a version built and delivered to MD Anderson." Mark Neidig of the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation said, "The thing that is holding us back is resources. When resources become available, this will enable our project to move forward and to give people more hope each day that we have treatment that could potentially cure a person's cancer in our lifetime"
