Erie County District Attorney Jack Daneri awards Patrolman Noble Brown, as October's Erie County Officer of the Month.
"I'm surprised." Said Brown. "I work a lot of nights, you don't see too many people so I'm actually surprised that there were quite a few votes."
Brown has worked with the Lawrence Park Township Police Department for five years.
Working mostly nights, he says it's nice to be acknowledged.
"Absolutely it's nice to be recognized. Like I said, I work nights, and you don't see too many people. The people you do see are in bed, or going to bed. So it's nice to be recognized." Said Brown.
The Lawrence Park Police Chief says he's glad patrolman Brown got the officer of the month award. And that's because he says he's deserving of the recognition.
"He's a very hard-working officer. He's quiet. He comes in, he's efficient, he does his job, the community reacts well to him, he gets along well with people. He's a good officer." Said Lawrence Park Police Chief Gerard Pfadt.
And both say the officer of the month program is a good way for Erie county citizens to reach out to their police.
"It's important for both sides. It gives the community a sense of touch with the police department. And it gives the officers the idea that the people do appreciate what they do when we protect and serve." Said Chief Pfadt.
"I think it puts a positive spin for police work. They get to actually be involved a little bit more, see the guys that are working." Said Brown.
