Warren Demolition

A little bit of history came tumbling down today in Warren. Crews demolished a vacant building on Pennsylvania Avenue East the city had deemed blighted. CLICK FOR VIDEO But years ago it was an important part of the community. In recent years, the building housed a karate studio and a movie rental business. But from the 1800's to to 1980's it was the Lewis Market. The wife of the final owner of the market watched as crews from Allegheny Landscaping tore down the two story building. Jeanne Steele said she had a lot of memories from the many years she worked at the market. And the crew helped her relive the years by finding many old documents and newspaper articles in the building before they began tearing it down.
