September 10, 2009, 11:37 am

When Erie County Health Department inspectors went to the American Legion on Maple Street in Fairview recently, they found two critical health-code violations. CLICK FOR VIDEO  One concerned hand washing. The inspector says the legion didn't have so-called single-use towels at both of its kitchen sinks. They got another critical for dish washing-slash-sanitizing issue. The inspector says their dishwasher wasn't reaching the required 180-degree temperature. They have 24-hours to fix both problems. One critical at the Mister Pizza on West 31st Street in Erie. It's about food temperatures. The inspector says Mister Pizza had some potentially hazardous food wasn't being kept cool enough. That brought an order to take the pepperoni and tomato sauce and throw it out. They got the cooler down to the proper temperature during the inspection.
