Critical Violations 9-3-09

September 3, 2009, 12:09 pm

When Erie County Health Department inspectors went to the Super China Buffet on West 26th Street in Millcreek, they found two critical violations. One concerned possible food contamination. The inspector says an employee touched ready to eat food with their bare hands, cutting fruit for the salad bar without gloves. A second critical at Super China was about keeping the food contact surfaces clean. Not enough sanitizer. They fixed both problems during the inspection. One critical at the East State Street Restaurant and Pub in Albion. It's about the hand washing set-up. The inspector says they didn't have a hand wash sink at the bar. They have 30-days to fix it. One critical at Marlene's on East Main Street in Corry. Food protection's the issue. They had a problem chemical sanitizer line. That problem -- fixed during the inspection. And finally, one critical at the Red Apple Food Mart on West 38th Street in Millcreek. The inspector says there was black residue and pink slime on the inside of their ice machine bin. They were given 24-hours to clean it up.
