Critical Violations 7-16-09

July 16, 2009, 11:18 am

When Erie County Health Department inspectors checked out the American Legion Post on Sciota Road in Corry, they found two critical violations.  CLICK FOR VIDEO  The first one's about improper handling of food. The inspector says one of the workers was touching ready-to-eat food with their bare hands. The second critical's about keeping food contact surfaces cleaned and maintained. They didn't have enough chemical sanitizer. The inspector told them to use their 3-bowl sink for dish washing until the actual dishwasher's fixed. Another critical in Corry. This one's at the Corry Country Club. It concerns food protection. The inspector says they had raw meat stored above ready to eat foods, that's a no-no. That brought an order to fix the problem within 24 hours. One critical at the One Stop Store on West 32nd Street in Erie. It's about proper cold holding temperatures for food. Potentially hazardous food was not being kept at the required 41-degrees or below temperature. So, the inspector told them to take the bologna, cheese and bacon found at those temperatures and throw it out. And one critical at the Little Caesars on West 8th Street. Hand washing facilities are the problem. The inspector says Little Caesar's hand wash sink was blocked and inaccessible.
