The subject for November: Minimally Invasive Heart Surgery

Minimally invasive heart surgery is the topic for November’s Saint Vincent Health Insights reports. Saint Vincent heart surgeons are able to perform two types of less invasive procedures on the heart which previously were only performed using conventional surgical methods that involved a full chest incision.

Mitral valve surgery can now be done through a small incision on the side of the chest. And, for some patients who suffer from atrial fibrillation, a common irregular heart rhythm, a minimally invasive procedure called the mini maze may also be an option.

In these reports you will hear from the surgeons, see the procedures and hear from the patients who have successfully recovered from the less invasive surgeries. Click here to find a doctor.
