When considering outpatient surgery, one of the most important decisions a patient and a surgeon make is the choice of facility where that surgery is performed. The Saint Vincent Surgery Center stands among the top performing free-standing same-day surgery centers in the country.  Built in 1987 as the first surgery center in the region, the Saint Vincent Surgery Center remains the largest and busiest of the surgery centers in northwestern Pennsylvania.  At a time when most developments in health care services and technology typically come with a higher price tag, same day surgery centers have proven to be an efficient, cost effective option for many surgical procedures.

The Saint Vincent Health Insights report in January will take a closer look at the procedures offered at the Saint Vincent Surgery Center, the physicians who perform procedures there and why patient and staff satisfaction scores remain high.
